Sarah Buchan 

 

Sarah seriously started her studies at the Miguel Negri Violin School in Italy. She performed solo recitals in Lake Maggiore and various concerts in Italy and New Zealand. She later studied in London, performing solo recitals in London halls and in Boston and New York.

 

Her BMus in performance was gained at the Juilliard School in New York from 2003-7.  Sarah gave a solo recital at the Lincoln centre, won a National Music competition in NZ and participated in masterclasses in Salzburg, Austria. She also won the string prize at the Gisborne International music competition, and a special prize at the Michael Hill International Violin competition.

 

Sarah moved to London in 2011 where she has played with most of London's major orchestras including the London Symphony, the London Philharmonic and the Royal Philharmonic. A Highlight has been the opportunity to perform the string quartet 'Vera' by contemporary composer Hannah Kendall at the 'Yellow Lounge' in London.
